Player of the Week - Brian Dinkelman, McKendree College

Columbia, Mo. – For the second straight week, Brian Dinkelman, a sophomore infielder for the McKendree Bearcats, is the AMC Player of the Week in baseball for April 12-18. In eight games, Dinkelman batted .833, going 25-for-30 at the plate. Of his 25 hits, 14 were for extra bases. Dinkelman notched six doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 19 RBIs. The Irvington, Ill. native scored 25 runs and added four stolen bases.  He tied a school record with six hits and five runs scored in the Bearcats’ 19-2 win at MacMurray College. He also eclipsed the Bearcat season mark for stolen bases, pushing his total to 22. Dinkelman served as the catalyst for McKendree’s 16-game winning streak, which ended with last Sunday’s 12-2 loss to Culver-Stockton College.

Pitcher of the Week - Garrett Bauer, Missouri Baptist University

Columbia, Mo. - Garrett Bauer, a senior hurler for the Spartans from Missouri Baptist, is the AMC Pitcher of the Week for April 12-18. Bauer, who hails from Kennesaw, Georgia, made two appearances last week, throwing eight innings. He pitched an inning of relief in a win over Hannibal-LaGrange College that went 13 innings. He held the Trojans to just one hit and struck out one batter. He started the next game vs. Hannibal and pitched seven more innings of shutout baseball. For the week, he totaled nine strikeouts and gave up no runs and just three hits.
