Player of the Week – Eric Atkinson, William Woods University

Columbia, Mo. - Eric Atkinson, a freshman shortstop for William Woods University, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in men’s baseball for the week of March 26-April 4. Atkinson made six appearances at the plate in WWU's two outings last week, logging three hits and scoring three runs. In the Owls' 13-1 victory over Missouri Valley College, the right hander from Joplin, Mo. recorded two hits and one RBI in his three at bats.

Pitcher of the Week – Leonel Santiago, Missouri Baptist College

Columbia, Mo. – Leonel Santiago, a junior pitcher for the Missouri Baptist College Spartans, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in men’s baseball for the week of March 26-April 4. Santiago guided Missouri Baptist to two victories last week, including a win over nationally-ranked Union University. In addition, the 6-1 right handed hurler from San Juan, Puerto Rico recorded a 4-0 shutout over AMC foe McKendree College, allowing only four hits in his seven innings on the mound. For the week, Santiago pitched 14 innings, striking out 12 and walking only two of the batters he faced.
