Player of the Week – Leroy McCaulley, Harris-Stowe State College

Kirksville, MO - Leroy McCaulley, a 6-1 sophomore outfielder for the Harris-Stowe State College Hornets, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in men’s baseball. McCaulley hit a scorching .684 last week, totaling 13 hits in 19 at-bats. The Cape Girardeau, Mo. native recorded ten RBIs, three doubles, one triple and one home run in Harris-Stowe's six games.

Also nominated: Brett Haake, McKendree College; Steve Parkingham, William Woods University, Julio Campos, Missouri Baptist College.

Pitcher of the Week – Doug Reichel, McKendree College

Kirksville, MO - Doug Reichel, a right-handed hurler for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in men's baseball.  In a 6-2 win over AMC foe, William Woods University, Reichel tossed a complete game, four-hitter. Reichel, who hails from Belleville, Ill., allowed only two earned runs and recorded an ERA of 2.57. In addition, he struck out eight batters while walking only two.
