Player of the Week – Julio Campos, Missouri Baptist College

Columbia, Mo. - Julio Campos, a junior shortstop for Missouri Baptist College, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in men’s baseball for the week of April 5-11. In Missouri Baptist's seven games last week, Campos, who bats in the lead off slot for the Spartans, logged 15 hits in 29 appearances at the plate, recording a batting average of .517. In an 8-6 victory over Quincy University, who is currently ranked #4 in NCAA Division II competition, Campos went five for five and hit three doubles. For the week, the right handed slugger from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico turned in seven doubles, one triple, one home run, one RBI and eight stolen bases.

Pitcher of the Week – Dave Causey, McKendree College

Columbia, Mo. – Dave Causey, a junior pitcher for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in men’s baseball for the week of April 5-11. The right handed hurler recorded two wins and two saves in his four appearances on the mound last week, striking out eight batters while walking only two. In addition to Causey's 0.00 ERA, he added power to the Bearcats offensive attack as well. Causey, who hails from Centralia, Ill., hit .387 for McKendree last week, logging 10 RBIs and two homeruns.
