Player of the Week - Randy Vega, Missouri Baptist College

Columbia, Mo. –  Randy Vega, a junior catcher for the Spartans from Missouri Baptist, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in men's baseball for the week of April 16 - 22. Vega, who hails from Humacao, Puerto Rico, tallied 12 hits in 20 appearances at the plate last week, recording a .600 batting average. He totaled six runs scored, two doubles, four home runs and 11 RBIs. 

Also Nominated: Damarcus Hamilton, Harris-Stowe State College; Ryan Tribout, McKendree College.

Pitcher of the Week – Kevin Lewis, Missouri Baptist College

Columbia, Mo. – Kevin Lewis, a senior right-handed pitcher for the Missouri Baptist College Spartans, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in men's baseball for the week of April 16 - 22. In his seven innings on the mound last week, Lewis led the Spartans to an 8-0 shutout victory over the AMC's top team, the McKendree College Bearcats. The Shelbyville, Mich. native allowed just one hit, while recording nine strikeouts and just one walk.

Also Nominated: Toby Doke, Williams Baptist College.
