Player of the Week – Julio Campos, Missouri Baptist College

Columbia, Mo. - Julio Campos, a junior shortstop for Missouri Baptist College, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in men’s baseball for the week of April 26 - May 2. Campos was a force offensively and defensively for the Spartans last week. In the field, the right-hander from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico recorded four put-outs, nine assists and no errors. Campos also tallied a .533 batting average, connecting for eight hits, including two doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs, in 15 trips to the plate. Against conference foe William Woods University, Campos broke the Spartan record for most hits in a season, which previously stood at 72. With his eight hits last week, Campos's hit total currently stands at 76.

Pitcher of the Week – Bryan Scott, McKendree College

Columbia, Mo. - Bryan Scott, a junior pitcher for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in men’s baseball for the week of April 26 - May 2. Scott pitched a complete game against conference rival Hannibal-LaGrange College last week, recording a 9-0 shutout. The righthander hurler from Vandalia, Ill. struck out four batters and allowed only two hits in addition to holding his offensive opponents to a 0.087 batting average.
