Men's Basketball - Marcus Bradford, Columbia College
Marcus Bradford of
Columbia College has been named the American Midwest Conference Men's
Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 11. Bradford, a 6-3 senior
forward from Columbus, Ohio, led the Cougars to a pair of victories last
week. In three games, he averaged 17.7 points, five rebounds and two
assists per contest. Bradford was 16-of-44 from the field, including a
42 percent clip (11-of-26) from three-point range. He also hit 83.3
percent (10-of-12) from the free throw line. Bradford had a 22-point,
four-assist performance against Bellevue University on Dec. 9.

Women's Basketball - Amber Lewellen, Columbia College
Amber Lewellen from Columbia
College has been selected as the American Midwest Conference Women's
Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 11. Lewellen, a 5-9 junior
forward from Kirksville, Mo., was a big force in leading the Lady
Cougars to a pair of non-conference victories last week. Lewellen
averaged 29 points, six rebounds and four steals in the two games,
shooting a torrid 69 percent (25-of-36) from the field. Lewellen had 32
points in an 89-69 win at home against Park University, and followed
that with a 26-point efforts in a 79-66 win in Columbia versus John
Brown University.
