Men's Basketball - Jeremy Bell, Williams Baptist College Jeremy Bell, a junior guard
for the Williams Baptist College Eagles, is the AMC Player of the Week in
men's basketball for Feb. 8-14. Bell led Williams Baptist to a 1-1 record
in conference play last week, averaging 37.5 points a game. The Marked
Tree, Ark. native shot 69 percent from the field, connecting on 27 of his
39 field goal attempts. In addition, he was 16-for-18 from the freethrow
line and five-for-nine from beyond the three-point arc. Bell also averaged
eight rebounds and 2.5 assists. Women's Basketball - Charliss Ridley, Columbia College
Columbia College's Charliss Ridley is the
AMC Player of the Week in women's basketball for Feb. 8-14. Ridley
averaged 27.5 points for the Lady Cougars last week, leading her squad to
two league wins to remain undefeated in AMC action. She shot 61 percent
from the field and 94 percent from the freethrow line, dropping in 17 of
her 18 tries. In addition, she was four-for-four from beyond the
three-point arc. Ridley also grabbed 16 rebounds in the two wins, in
addition to passing out eight assists and swiping six steals. Ridley hails
from Wheaton, Ill. |
