Men's Basketball - Khamari Ballard, Columbia College Khamari Ballard, a senior
guard for the Columbia Cougar men's basketball team, is the AMC Player of
the Week in men's basketball for Feb. 1-7. Ballard averaged 30.5 points
per game last week, posting 40 points in an 88-74 win over University of
Illinois at Springfield and 21 in an 84-71 road victory vs. No. 17
Missouri Baptist University. Ballard shot 57 percent from the field in the
two games, dropping in 21 of his 37 field goal attempts. In addition, he
averaged 3.5 rebounds and four assists and shot 83 percent from the
freethrow line and 44 percent from beyond the three-points arc. Ballard
hails from Jackson, Miss. Women's Basketball - Shanna Lonsberry, William Woods University

is the AMC Player of the Week in women's basketball for Feb. 1-7.
Lonsberry, a sophomore guard from Elsberry, Mo., averaged 21 points in two
Owl wins last week, totaling 23 vs. Hannibal-LaGrange College and 21
against Harris-Stowe State College. She shot 82 percent from the field,
connecting on 14 of her 17 field goal attempts. In addition, she was
seven-for-nine from beyond the three-point line and seven-for-ten from the
foul line. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. |
