Men's Basketball - Jason Kaplan, Missouri Baptist University
Jason Kaplan, a 6-8 center for the Missouri Baptist Spartans, is the AMC Player of the Week in men's basketball for Dec. 28-Jan. 3. Kaplan led the Spartans to two wins in the Coaches vs. Cancer Holiday Classic at Columbia College last weekend, averaging 24.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in the two contests. The Deerfield, Ill. native shot 71 percent from the field and 83 percent from the freethrow line to help improve his team's overall record to 11-3 on the season. For his efforts at the weekend event, Kaplan was honored as a member of the all-classic squad.

Women's Basketball - Miesha Billups, McKendree College
Miesha Billups, a 5-10 senior forward for the Bearcats from McKendree, is the AMC Player of the Week in women's basketball for Dec. 28-Jan. 3. Billups averaged 17 points and 12.5 rebounds in McKendree's two games last week at the Taylor Holiday Tournament in Indiana. She also posted four assists, two blocks and two steals and shot 50 percent from the field. Billups, who leads the 10-4 Bearcats in rebounding with 10.2 boards a game, hails from Chokia, Ill.
