Men's Basketball - Michael Griffin, University of Illinois-Springfield
Michael Griffin of the University of Illinois-Springfield has been selected as the American Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 20. Griffin, a 6-6 senior forward from Litchfield, Ill., registered a double-double with 23 points and 16 rebounds in leading the Prairie Stars to a 70-65 road victory Feb. 16 at Missouri Baptist University. Griffin connected on 9-of-14 attempts from the field (64.3 percent) while sinking 5-of-7 (71.4 percent) shots from the free throw line in the AMC victory. He also added one blocked shot in the contest. Griffin's effort helped Illinois-Springfield maintain its lead in the AMC standings heading into the final week of regular-season play.

Women's Basketball - Jessica Wilkerson, Columbia College
Jessica Wilkerson of Columbia College has been named the American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 20. Wilkerson, a 5-8 junior guard from Fort Madison, Iowa, averaged 14 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last week. In doing so, she helped Columbia to a 2-0 record on the week. Against Williams Baptist College, Wilkerson recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. She also added five assists and four steals in the game. On Feb. 18 against Hannibal-LaGrange College, Wilkerson led her team to a 72-66 win as she scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. For the week, Wilkerson shot 58 percent from the floor and 71 percent from the free-throw line.
