Player of the Week - Matt Laur, McKendree College [Columbia, MO] - Matt Laur, a 6-11 freshman for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball. Laur led the Bearcats to two victories last week, averaging 19.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per outing. For the week, the Kinmundy, Ill. native connected on 16 of his 28 field goal attempts and seven of his 14 free throws. In addition, Laur passed out three assists, swiped five steals and blocked nine shots. Also nominated: Lawrence Thomas, Columbia College; Sam Estelle, Missouri Baptist College. |
