Player of the Week - Amy Niebrugge, McKendree College [Columbia, MO] - Amy Niebrugge, a 6-0 junior center for the McKendree College Bearcats, has
been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball for
the week of Dec. 7 - 13. Niebrugge led the Bearcats to a 2-0 record last week, averaging
21.5 points and nine rebounds. The Teutopolis, Ill. native knocked down 19 of her 34 field
goal attempts, while converting five of her seven attempts from the free throw line. On
Dec. 8, Niebrugge led her team to its first-ever victory over Southern Illinois
University-Edwardsville. In the 62-59 triumph, Niebrugge was an all-around force, amassing
18 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three blocks and four steals. |
