Player of the Week - Amy Niebrugge, McKendree College

[Columbia, MO] - Amy Niebrugge, a 6-0 junior center for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week for women's basketball for the week of Jan. 25 - Jan. 31. In McKendree's 96-70 victory over Olivet Nazarene University on Tuesday night, Niebrugge scored her 1,695th point as a Bearcat to became McKendree's all-time leading scorer. For the week, Niebrugge led her team to 3-0 record, averaging 24.7 points and grabbing 11.7 rebounds. She shot 65 percent from the field, connecting on 33 of her 51 shots. In addition, the Teutopolis, Ill. native swiped 2.7 steals per outing and passed out 2.3 assists.

Also nominated: Stephanie Sebacher, William Woods University; Arletha Lewis, Harris-Stowe State College; Melissa Feris, Park College.
