Player of the Week – Jessica Hruby, William Woods University

Columbia, Mo. – Jessica Hruby, a  junior first baseman/catcher for the William Woods University Owls, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women’s softball for the week of April 15-21. Hruby tallied a .345 batting average last week, recording ten hits in 29 appearances at the plate. In addition, the Oxford, Iowa native tallied two doubles, two triples, one grand-slam homerun and 13 RBIs.

Pitcher of the Week – Jayne Miller, Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. – Jayne Miller, a junior hurler for the Columbia Cougars, has been named the AMC Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 15-21. In 25 innings on the mound last week, the Palmyra, Mo. native picked up three wins, recording a 0.00 ERA. Miller allowed just eight hits and two runs and struck out 31 opposing batters while giving up just four walks.
