Player of the Week – Amanda Rhorer, Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. – Amanda Rhorer, a sophomore catcher and designated hitter for the Columbia Cougars, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women’s softball for the week of April 22-28. Rhorer notched a .500 batting average last week, knocking six hits in 12 appearances at the plate. In addition, the Boonville, Mo. native totaled five runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and six RBIs. Rhorer also walked three times and recorded zero walks.

Pitcher of the Week – Jayne Miller, Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. – For the second consecutive week and the fifth time this year, Jayne Miller, a junior pitcher for the Columbia Cougars, has been named the AMC Pitcher of the Week. Miller finished last week with a 2-1 record, fanning 23 batters, while giving up just one earned run and seven walks. In addition, the Palmyra, Mo. native allowed just eight hits and tallied an earned run average of 0.41.
