Player of the Week – Shauna Holcmann, McKendree College Columbia, Mo. – Shauna Holcmann, a senior third baseman for the McKendree Bearcats, is the AMC Player of the Week in softball for March 15-21. Holcmann led the Bearcats to a 4-0 week, including a 4-0 shutout of No. 17 William Penn University. In 13 trips to the plate, the Highland, Ill. native totaled seven hits, recording a .538 batting average. In addition, in each of her team's four outings, Holcmann knocked a home run, including a grand slam vs. Trinity International University, setting a new school record for consecutive games with a dinger. She also logged 11 RBIs and a triple. Also Nominated: Anna Seipp, Columbia College; Michelle Schaper, William Woods University. Pitcher of the Week – Amy Maurer, McKendree College Columbia, Mo. – McKendree's Amy Maurer is the AMC Pitcher of the Week for March 15-21. Maurer, who hails from Florissant, Mo., recorded a win and a save last week, including a 4-0 shutout of No. 17 William Penn University. In nine innings on the mound, Maurer gave up no earned runs, fanned five opposing batters and allowed just five hits and one walk.
