Player of the Week – Krista Viefhaus, Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. – Columbia College centerfielder Krista Viefhaus is the AMC Player of the Week in softball for April 5-11. Viefhaus knocked eight hits in 13 at-bats last week. The Eureka, Mo. native logged four doubles and two home runs, in addition to recording seven RBIs. Her two dingers were her 10th and 11th of the season, tying the Columbia College single-season mark.

Pitcher of the Week – Ashley Schmidt, William Woods University

Columbia, Mo. – Ashley Schmidt, a senior pitcher for the William Woods Owls, is the AMC Pitcher of the Week for April 5-11. Schmidt, who hails from Columbia, Ill., notched two wins last week, including a 17-0 shutout of University of Illinois-Springfield and a 5-4 win vs. No. 7 Columbia College. In 12 innings, she fanned 12 opposing batters and gave up just four runs.
