Player of the Week – Ashley Perrigo,
Columbia College

Lebanon, Ill. – Ashley Perrigo, a sophomore shortstop, from Columbia College has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week for the week of April 11-April 17. Perrigo, who originally hails from Tebbetts, Mo., hit .500 going 12-for-24 in helping her team to a 6-1 record last week. Perrigo also drove in nine runs and scored four times while putting together a slugging percentage of .667. Against conference foe Williams Baptist College, Perrigo went four-for-four with two RBI in helping Columbia to an 8-1 win. Later in the week against Oklahoma Baptist University Perrigo was two-for-three with two runs scored and four RBI.

Pitcher of the Week – Carol Lyons,
Harris Stowe State College

Lebanon, Ill. – Carol Lyons, a junior pitcher, from Harris-Stowe State College has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 11-17. Lyons, originally from Alton, Ill., went 2-1 on the week with a 0.32 earned-run average. In 22 innings pitched she recorded 25 strikeouts while walking two and allowing just eight hits. Against Calumet University Lyons went seven innings allowing no runs and one hit and striking out seven. Lyons recorded nine strikeouts in each of her final two appearances on the week, including a seven inning three hit performance against Iowa Wesleyan College in which Harris-Stowe won 3-0.
