2006 Player and Pitcher of the Week Honorees

Lebanon, Ill. – TJ Quick of William Woods University has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week for April 10. Quick, a freshman centerfielder from Fulton, Mo., hit .571 with one RBI and six stolen bases while helping her team to a 6-0 record on the week. Quick recorded 12 hits in her team's six games while scoring nine runs. In the first game of a double-header against Missouri Baptist University Quick was three-for-three with one RBI and one stolen base. She followed that with a two-for-three performance in the second game of the double-header, in which she also scored three runs and stole one base. Quick had multiple hits in five of the Owls' six games on the week. Also Nominated: Christina Schoonover of Columbia College and Tamara Whitney of Hannibal-LaGrange College Pitcher of the Week – Heather Roby, Columbia College Lebanon, Ill. – Heather Roby of Columbia College has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week for April 10. Roby, a junior from New Madrid, Mo., was 2-0 on the week with a perfect 0.00 earned-run average. Against Williams Baptist College Roby went 10 innings, allowing no runs and just two hits while striking out 10. She followed that with another conference shutout in a 8-0 win over the University of Illinois-Springfield. Against UIS, Roby went five innings allowing just two hits and no runs while striking out five. Also Nominated: Amy Quirin of McKendree College and Jennifer Golden of William Woods University |
