2006 Player and Pitcher of the Week Honorees
Week 4 -- April 17, 2006



Player of the Week – Angie Maue, McKendree College

Lebanon, Ill.   Angie Maue of the McKendree College softball team has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week for April 17. Maue, a freshman catcher from Trenton, Ill., hit .500, going six-for-12, with three home runs and eight runs batted in while helping her team to a perfect 4-0 record on the week. Maue also scored three runs and was walked three times while holding a slugging percentage of 1.250 for the week. Maue was also just as important defensively, calling three shutouts on the week and throwing out one-of-two would be base stealers while picking off another. In the first game of a double-header against the University of Illinois-Springfield, Maue was two-for-three with one home run and three RBI. In the second game she was two-for-two with two home runs and four runs batted in. She had a chance for a third home run however she was walked on four straight balls with the bases loaded. Her two home runs tied the school record for home runs in a game.

Pitcher of the Week – Heather Roby, Columbia College

Lebanon, Ill. – Heather Roby of Columbia College has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week the second consecutive week. Roby, a junior from New Madrid, Mo., was 4-0 in five appearances on the week with a perfect 0.00 earned-run average. She started the week out with a four-hit, 10-strikeout shutout performance against AMC foe Harris-Stowe State University. Against Culver-Stockton College she threw a no-hitter while striking out 10 batters. She followed that with a three-hit seven inning performance against William Jewell College in which she struck out 12. On the week, Roby went 30 innings allowing just 11 hits and no runs while striking out 42 and walking just five.
