2007 Player and Pitcher of the Week Honorees

Lebanon, Ill. – The American Midwest Conference Softball Player of the Week for April 2 is Stephanie Stowe of Columbia Collge. Stowe, a senior catcher from Beulah, Manitoba, Canada, batted .692 with a double, home run and seven runs batted in to lead the Cougars to four victories last week. Stowe was 9-for-13 at the plate and added four runs scored. She leads Columbia with 28 hits and a .475 batting average while recording four home runs and 20 RBI. Also Nominated: Mandy Henke of William Woods University and Courtney Aldridge of McKendree College Pitcher of the Week – Christa Hummer, William Woods University Lebanon, Ill.

Softball Pitcher of the Week. Hummer, a senior from Clarksdale, Mo., earned
two wins and a save to figure in three of the Owls' four wins last week. In
11 innings of work, Hummer did not give up a run and allowed just five hits
with 11 strikeouts. |
