2007 Player and Pitcher of the Week Honorees

Lebanon, Ill. – For the second consecutive week, Stephanie Stowe of Columbia College has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week. Stowe, a senior catcher from Beulah, Manitoba, Canada, picked up the April 9 honor by turning in an all-around solid week. In six games, Stowe batted .632 (12-for-19) with seven runs scored, a home run and nine runs batted in. Half of Stowe's hits were for extra bases as she added five doubles to her home run. Stowe brought a 14-game hit streak into this week's play, as well as a batting average of .513. Also Nominated: Lynnzie Trustee of William Woods University and Kayla White of McKendree College Pitcher of the Week – Katie McMahon, Columbia College Lebanon, Ill.

Softball Pitcher of the Week for April 9 is Katie McMahon of Columbia
College. McMahon, a junior from Edina, Mo., picked up three AMC victories
last week as the Cougars won five of six league games. In 17 innings of
work, McMahon allowed just one earned run for a sparkling 0.41 ERA for the
week. She allowed just nine hits with four walks and 21 strikeouts. McMahon
did not give up a hit with eight strikeouts in a 10-0 win over Harris-Stowe
State University. |
