2007 Player and Pitcher of the Week Honorees

Lebanon, Ill. – Angie Maue of McKendree College has earned the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week award for April 30. Maue, a sophomore catcher from Trenton, Ill., had an outstanding week in leading the Bearcats to the AMC Tournament championship over the weekend. In six games last week, Maue batted .471 (8-for-17) with two doubles, three home runs and 14 runs batted in. During the conference tournament, Maue was 7-for-11 with two homers and 11 RBI. She hit a solo home run to account for the only score of the contest in a 1-0 win over Columbia College that propelled McKendree into the AMC Tournament title game. She opened tournament play with a grand slam and two-run double on her way to seven RBI in a 13-0 win against Harris-Stowe State University. College won a close vote for the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the
Week honors. McMahon, a junior from Edina, Mo., went 2-1 with a 0.39
earned-run average in 18 innings of work last week. McMahon allowed 10 hits
with 19 strikeouts in her three appearances. She tossed a one-hitter in an
8-0 win over Stephens College and followed that with seven innings of
four-hit ball in the Cougars' 7-0 victory against William Woods University
in the AMC Tournament. McMahon was named the 2007 AMC Pitcher of the Year
following the tournament championship contest. |
