Player of the Week – Judy Lochmann, Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. – Judy Lochmann, a junior first baseman for the Columbia College Cougars, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women’s softball for the week of March 19-25. Lochmann led her team to a perfect 12-0 record last week, recording a batting average of .395. The Ballwin, Mo. native racked up 12 runs scored, 15 RBIs and 15 hits, including three doubles and three home runs.

Pitcher of the Week – Natalie Buitink, Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. – Natalie Buitink, a junior on the Columbia College pitching staff, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in women’s softball for the week of March 19-25. Buitink recorded a 5-0 record last week, pushing Columbia’s overall record to 21-3. In the 78.3 innings Buitink was on the mound for the Cougars, she allowed no earned runs and gave up only 18 hits. In addition, Buitink, who hails from Bartlesville, Okla., struck out 18 opponents, while surrendering only four walks.
