Player of the Week – Judy Lochmann, Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. – Judy Lochmann, a junior first baseman for the Columbia College Cougars, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women’s softball for the week of March 26-April 4. Lochmann continued her torrid tear at the plate, recording a batting average of .438 for the week. She collected 14 hits in 29 at bats and collected 12 RBIs and five doubles. Lochmann also led Columbia to a 4-1 record at a weekend tournament held at Avila College, where she finished the two-day, five game trip with a batting average of .588. During the tournament, the Ballwin, Mo. native also added eight RBIs and successfully stayed in two run-downs on first and third situations to allow Cougar runners to score.

Pitcher of the Week – Amie Touchette, McKendree College

Columbia, Mo. – Amy Touchette, a sophomore pitcher for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in women’s softball for the week of March 26-April 4. Touchette recorded three wins for the Bearcats last week, including a 2-1 victory over AMC rival, Missouri Baptist College and a 5-1 triumph over the league's top team, Columbia College. In addition, Touchette pitched 4.1 innings of McKendree's 6-5 win over the #4 team in the Midwest Region, Evangel College. In her two outings vs. AMC foes, Touchette allowed only two earned runs in 14 innings. In addition, the left handed hurler from Cahokia, Ill. gave up only 12 hits, while striking out eight of the batters she faced.
