Player of the Week – Kate Walsh, McKendree College

Columbia, Mo. – Kate Walsh, a sophomore leftfielder for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women’s softball for the week of April 5-11. Walsh led McKendree to a 3-1 record last week, including a 5-4 victory over conference rival William Woods University. The St. Louis native collected seven hits in her 12 at bats, finishing the week with a batting average of  .583.

Pitcher of the Week – Amie Touchette, McKendree College

Columbia, Mo. – Amy Touchette, a sophomore pitcher for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in women’s softball for the week of April 5-11. Touchette pitched two complete games last week, recording a victory over conference foe William Woods University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The lefthander from Cahokia, Ill. struck out six batters in her two outings and turned in an earned run average of 1.50.
