Player of the Week – Kristina Jones, Columbia College Columbia, Mo. – For the second consecutive week, Kristina Jones, a sophomore shortstop for the Columbia College Cougars, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women’s softball. Jones recorded a .412 batting average last week, tallying seven hits in 17 at bats. In addition, the Jefferson City, Mo. native totaled four RBIs, two doubles and two runs scored. Also Nominated: Angie Conley, McKendree College; Amy Books, William Woods University. Pitcher of the Week – Amie Touchette, McKendree College Columbia, Mo. – Amie Touchette, a senior left-handed pitcher for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in women’s softball for the week of April 2 - 8. Touchette, a native of Waterloo, Ill., totaled an ERA of 0.88 in 16 innings on the mound last week. She allowed just two earned runs, while striking out 18 batters and only walking three.
