Player of the Week – Sarah Dorsey, Hannibal-LaGrange College

Columbia, Mo. – Sarah Dorsey, a sophomore catcher and outfielder for the Hannibal-LaGrange College Trojans,  has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women’s softball for the week of April 16 - 22. Dorsey played in seven of Hannibal's 12 games last week, totaling 15 hits in 25 at bats. The Delavan, Ill. native scored eight runs and recorded two doubles, six RBIs and five stolen bases.

Pitcher of the Week – Andrea Smithee, William Woods University

Columbia, Mo. – Andrea Smithee, a freshman right-handed hurler  for the William Woods University Owls, has been named the American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week in women’s softball for the week of April 16 - 22. Smithee appeared in eight of WWU's ten games last week. She pitched two complete game shutouts, including a seven-inning no-hitter vs. the AMC regular season champion McKendree College Bearcats. For the week, Smithee, who hails from Auxvasse, Mo., recorde an ERA of 0.39. She fanned 20 batters and allowed 16 hits and just two earned runs in 36.3 innings pitched.
