Player of the Week - Meleisha Purcell, Missouri Baptist University

Columbia, MO - Meleisha Purcell, a senior middle hitter for the Missouri Baptist Spartans, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in volleyball for the week of Sept. 9-15. Purcell led the Spartans to a 4-1 victory last week, averaging 3.4 kills per game. In 16 games, the Pago Pago, Samoa native committed just 15 attack errors in 115 attempts. In addition, she totaled four solo blocks and 13 assist blocks. For her efforts, Purcell was named to the Graceland Pizza Shack Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Setter of the Week- Olga Benoit, Columbia College

Columbia, MO - Olga Benoit, a setter for the Columbia College Cougars, has been named the league setter of the week in women's volleyball for the week of Sept. 9-15. Benoit, who hails from Medellin, Colombia, tallied 158 assists in four matches last week, averaging 12.2 per game. In addition, Benoit racked up 28 kills and 40 digs.
