Player of the Week - Chrissy Simones, McKendree College

Columbia, Mo. - Chrissy Simones, a junior middle hitter for the McKendree College Bearcats, is the AMC Player of the Week for Oct. 3-9. Simones, who is a native of Florissant, Mo., led the Bearcats to two conference victories last week. She helped McKendree rally from an 0-2 deficit to defeat league foe Missouri Baptist University. In eight games, she averaged 3.75 kills, converting more than 33 percent of her attack attempts into points. In addition, Simones posted two service aces, 16 digs, five solo blocks and seven assist blocks.

Setter of the Week - Lyndsey Hillyard, McKendree College

Columbia, Mo. - The AMC Setter of the Week for Oct. 3-9 is Lyndsey Hillyard from McKendree College. Hillyard led her team to two conference wins last week and moved into second place on the Bearcats' all-time season list for assists. The senior from Steelville, Ill. posted 89 assists in eight games last week, averaging 11.1 a set. She ended the week with 896 assists and is just 12 shy of the season record of 908. In addition, Hillyard totaled four service aces, 12 digs and five assist blocks.
