Player of the Week - Jacqueline Makokha, Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. – Jacqueline Makokha, a senior outside hitter for the Cougars from Columbia College, is the AMC Player of the Week in volleyball for Oct. 17-24. Makokha was named the most valuable player of the College of St. Mary Invitational last weekend for leading her team to wins over two nationally-ranked opponents. Makokha, who hails from Nairobi, Kenya, posted 96 kills for an average of 5.3 a game. She converted 47 percent of her attack attempts into kills for Columbia. She also racked up 102 digs, 11 solo blocks and four assists blocks.

Setter of the Week - Tracie Ford, Columbia College

Columbia, Mo. - For the second consecutive week, the AMC Setter of the Week is Tracie Ford from Columbia College. The Blue Springs, Mo. native led the Cougars to a perfect 5-0 week, including wins over No. 6 National American (S.D.) University and No. 12 College of St. Mary (Neb.). Ford totaled 244 assists for an average of 13.6 a game. In addition, the senior posted 12 kills, three service aces and 48 digs. She was also a force defensively for Columbia, recording nine solo blocks and eight assist blocks.

Libero of the Week - Abby Funderburk, William Woods University

Columbia, Mo. – Abby Funderburk, a junior defensive specialist for the William Woods University Owls, is the Libero of the Week in the AMC for Oct. 17-24. Funderburk, who hails from Bridgeton, Mo. played in eight games last week. Out of her 59 passing attempts, she was aced only twice, and 37 of her passes were perfect. In addition, Funderburk recorded 71 digs for an average of 8.9 a game. Fourteen of those digs were converted into kills by her teammates. She also attempted 33 serves, tallying seven aces and just one error.

Also nominated: Jenna Holdmeyer, Columbia College.
