Player of the Week - Rose Obunaga, Columbia College Lebanon, Ill. – Rose Obunaga, a senior outside hitter from Columbia College, is the AMC Player of the Week honoree for Sept. 5. Obunaga was a key factor in the Cougars' 4-0 start last week. She collected 57 kills with an attack percentage of .586. Obunaga also picked up 22 blocks, including 14 solos. She added five service aces and 48 digs for the NAIA's No. 3-ranked team in the pre-season poll. Obunaga is from Nairobi, Kenya. Luana Branco of Columbia College is the AMC Setter of the Week for Sept.
5. In four matches, Branco handed out 146 assists for an average of 12.2
per game. She also posted 16 kills and an attack percentage of .441.
Branco added 39 digs, 15 blocks and two service aces to her totals. Branco,
a 6-0 freshman, hails from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Libero of the Week - Jenna Holdmeyer, Columbia College Lebanon, Ill. – Jenna Holdmeyer of Columbia College has been selected as the AMC Libero of the Week for Sept. 5. In 12 games -- all Cougar victories -- Holdmeyer had 22 digs with 61 pass receptions. She also collected two service aces for the Cougars, who were ranked No. 3 in the NAIA pre-season poll.
