Player of the Week - Rose Obunaga, Columbia College

Lebanon, Ill. – Rose Obunaga of Columbia College has been selected as the American Midwest Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 17. Obunaga, a senior outside hitter from Nairobi, Kenya, collected 67 kills in four matches last week, helping the Cougars to a perfect 4-0 mark. She had a hitting percentage of .402 for the week. In addition, Obunaga added 38 digs and 15 blocks, including 13 solos.

Also nominated: Ana Mercado of Missouri Baptist University and Chrissy Simones of McKendree College.

Setter of the Week -Shannan Swiney, Missouri Baptist University

Lebanon, Ill. - For the second consecutive week, Shannan Swiney of Missouri Baptist University is the American Midwest Conference Setter of the Week. Swiney, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., earned the Oct. 17 award by dishing out 126 assists in guiding the Spartans to four AMC victories during the week. She also had 14 digs, 13 service aces and nine blocks in the Missouri Baptist wins. In the Spartans' first win of the week against Williams Baptist, Swiney handed out 43 assists with nine service aces.

Libero of the Week - Jenna Holdmeyer, Columbia College

Lebanon, Ill. – Jenna Holdmeyer of Columbia College has earned the AMC Libero of the Week award for Oct. 17. Holdmeyer, a senior from Mathasville, Mo., was a key factor in four Cougar victories last week. She posted 50 digs and did not commit a reception error in 48 chances. In addition, Holdmeyer had 14 services aces for the week, including nine against Olivet Nazarene University.
