Player of the Week - Ana Mercado, Missouri Baptist University

Lebanon, Ill. – Ana Mercado of Missouri Baptist University has earned American Midwest Conference Player of the Week honors for Sept. 11. Mercado, a 6-3 senior outside hitter from Tepic, Mexico, led the Spartans to a 4-1 record last week. Mercado had 93 kills and a hitting percentage of .310 in 18 games for Missouri Baptist. She also collected 64 digs, 22 service aces and 17 blocking assists. In leading the No. 4-ranked Spartans to a sweep of No. 7 Columbia College, Mercado had 16 kills, seven digs and eight service aces. Mercado is the reigning AMC Player of the Year.

Setter of the Week - Luana Branco, Columbia College

Lebanon, Ill. - Luana Branco of Columbia College has been named the American Midwest Conference Setter of the Week for Sept. 11. Branco, a 5-10 sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, had 125 assists in four matches last week for the No. 7-ranked Cougars. She averaged just under 10 assists per match. In addition, Branco collected 28 kills and a hitting percentage of .311. Branco also notched 47 digs, six service aces and 10 blocks.

Libero of the Week - Tracey Abell, Missouri Baptist University

Lebanon, Ill. – For the second consecutive week, Tracey Abell of Missouri Baptist University has been selected as the AMC Libero of the Week. In taking the Sept. 11 honor, Abell piled up 129 digs in five matches last week for an average of 7.2 per game. Abell also had 186 passing attempts and nine service aces. Abell is a 5-4 sophomore from St. Peters, Mo.
