Player of the Week - Ana Mercado, Missouri Baptist University

Lebanon, Ill. – Ana Mercado of Missouri Baptist University is the American Midwest Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 23. Mercado, a 6-3 senior outside hitter from Tepic, Mexico, accumulated 64 kills in leading the Spartans a 4-0 record last week. She averaged 5.3 kills per contest and had a hitting percentage of .490. Mercado also posted 37 digs, 16 service aces and eight blocks in 12 games.

Setter of the Week - Luana Branco, Columbia College

Lebanon, Ill. - Luana Branco of Columbia College has been named the American Midwest Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week for Oct. 23. Branco, a 5-10 sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, collected 103 assists in three matches last week for the Cougars. In addition, Branco posted 19 kills, 52 digs, three service aces and six assisted blocks for Columbia.

Libero of the Week - Tracey Abell, Missouri Baptist University

Lebanon, Ill. – Tracey Abell of Missouri Baptist University has earned American Midwest Conference Volleyball Libero of the Week honors for Oct. 23. Abell, a 5-4 sophomore from St. Peters, Mo., was a big factor in the Spartans' 4-0 record last week. She collected 90 digs for an average of 7.5 per game. Abell also contributed four service aces and handled 88 of 91 pass attempts successfully.
