Columbia, MO - Alicia Hutchison, a senior outside hitter for the William Woods University Owls, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women's volleyball for the week ending Sept. 16. Hutchison led the Owls to a victory over Central Methodist College last week, hammering 17 kills in the match and committing just two errors. Hi addition, the 5-9 North Bay, Ontario native contributed seven digs in the effort. Also nominated: Kenny Moreno, Columbia College; Leslie Walker, McKendree College; Leah Duke, Harris-Stowe State College; Julie Brinker, Missouri Baptist College Setter of the Week - Olga Correa, Columbia College Columbia, MO - For the second consecutive week, Olga Correa, a 5-9 junior setter for the No. 2 Columbia College Cougars, is the American Midwest Conference Setter of the Week for the week ending Sept. 16. Correa led the Cougars to a three-game win over the No. 7 team in NCAA Division II, Truman State University. Correa, who hails from Medellin, Colombia, tallied 40 assists, six kills and eight digs. Also nominated: Heather Roberts, William Woods University; Terri Rauhut, Missouri Baptist College; Susie Mueller, McKendree College. |
