Player of the Week - Mariuska Hamilton, Columbia College

[Columbia, MO] - For the second consecutive week, Mariuska Hamilton, a senior outside hitter  for the Columbia College Cougars, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women's volleyball. Hamilton received the award based on her statistics from the week of Sept. 13-19. Hamilton, who hails from Edo Bolivar, Venezuela, turned in 51 kills in 15 games last week, averaging a kill on more than half of her attack attempts. She also recorded 3.53 digs and 1.13 blocks per game, guiding the Cougars to a perfect 5-0 record for the week.
Also nominated: Stephanie Sebacher, William Woods University; Amanda Dorries, McKendree College.

Setter of the Week -Deng Yang, Columbia College

[Columbia, MO] - Also a repeat performer from last week, Deng Yang, a 6-1 setter for the Columbia College Cougars, is the American Midwest Conference Setter of the Week. Helping keep her team atop the NAIA rankings, Yang recorded 167 assists, an average of 11.13 per game. Against the NAIA's #4 ranked team, Dordt College, Yang posted 41 assists in the match, her best performance of the week. In Columbia's five matches last week, Yang also totaled 46 digs, one solo block, 11 assist blocks and 22 kills. Yang is a native of Chang Zhou, China.

Specialist of the Week - Juliana Godoi, Columbia College

[Columbia, MO] - Juliana Godoi, a freshman setter for the Columbia College Cougars is the American Midwest Conference Specialist of the Week in women's volleyball for the week of Sept. 13-19.  Godoi, who hails from Sao Paolo, Brazil, recorded 2.67 digs and 3.87 passes per game, finishing with a .935 passing percentage for the week. In addition, Godoi totaled 15 service aces, averaging one per game.
