Player of the Week - Stephanie Sebacher, William Woods University

[Columbia, MO] - Stephanie Sebacher, a 6-0 middle hitter for the William Woods University Owls, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in volleyball for the week of Sept. 27, 1998. The Joneburg, Mo. native helped the Owls to a perfect 4-0 record last week, racking up 56 kills in 15 games. In addition, Sebacher added 11 service aces, including a game and career high five aces against Missouri Baptist College. She also recorded 44 digs and 20 blocks for the week. For her efforts, Sebacher was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Evangel College Crusader Classic in Springfield, Mo., where the Owls were 3-0.

Setter of the Week - Yang Zhe, Columbia College

[Columbia, MO] - For the third consecutive week, Yang Zhe, the setter for the #1-ranked team in NAIA competition, Columbia College, has been named the American Midwest Conference Setter of the Week for the week of Sept. 27, 1998. Zhe, who hails from Liao Lang, China, logged 9.5 assists per game, swatted seven kills and tallied 10 digs last week. Her efforts assisted Columbia in two victories for the week, including a three game thrashing of NCAA Division II foe, Washburn College. The two wins stretched the Cougar's undefeated streak to 18 matches.

Specialist of the Week - Betsy Cast, William Woods University

[Columbia, MO] - Betsy Cast, a 5-7 junior from William Woods University, has been named the American Midwest Conference Specialist of the Week for the week of Sept. 27, 1998. Cast, who hails from Holden, Mo., spearheaded WWU's defense last week, digging up 33 attack attempts. In addition, Cast recorded a passing percentage of .969 and a service percentage of .914, logging 2.46 passes per game and five service aces in WWU's four outings.
