Player of the Week - Julie Brinker, Missouri Baptist College

[Columbia, MO] - Julie Brinker, a freshman outside hitter  for the Missouri Baptist   College Spartans, has been named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week in women's volleyball for the week of Sept. 20-26. Brinker helped guide the Spartans to a 5-0 record last week, totaling 3.21 kills per game. In addition, the 6-0 Washington, Mo. native recorded eight services aces as well as 67 digs in 19 games.
Also nominated: Mariuska Hamilton, Columbia College; Stephanie Sebacher, William Woods University; Brooke Portz, McKendree College.

Setter of the Week -Michelle Henry, William Woods University

[Columbia, MO] - Michelle Henry, a 5-8 setter for William Woods University, is the American Midwest Conference Setter of the Week for the week of Sept. 20-27. The junior from Washington, D.C. averaged 7.92 assists per game last week for a total of 136 in 17 games. Henry also recorded nine service aces, 14 kills and 22 digs.
Also nominated: Deng Yang, Columbia College; Gina Heinen, McKendree College; Jessica Evans, Missouri Baptist College.

Specialist of the Week - Jennifer Freund, Missouri Baptist College

[Columbia, MO] - Jennifer Freund, a front row specialist for Missouri Baptist College is the American Midwest Conference Specialist of the Week in women's volleyball for the week of Sept. 20-27. Freund was a force at the net for the Spartans last week, racking up 52 kills in 121 attempts. Freund, who hails from Eureka, Mo., also totaled six solo blocks and 13 assist blocks for an average of .657 blocks per game.
