Player of the Week - Mariuska Hamilton, Columbia College

Columbia, MO - Mariuska Hamilton, a senior middle hitter for the Columbia College Cougars, is the AMC women's volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 11 through Oct. 17.Hamilton led her team to a 5-0 record last week, guiding the Cougars to three-game victories over the #8, #16 and #33-ranked teams in NAIA competition. In 15 games, the Edo Bolivar, Venezuela native totaled 37 kills in 71 attempts, while committing only nine errors. In addition, for the week, Hamilton racked up eight aces, 44 digs, six solo blocks and nine assist blocks. For her efforts at the St. Edward's Classic in Austin, Texas, Hamilton received 1st Team All-Tournament honors.
Also nominated: Julie Brinker, Missouri Baptist College; Stephanie Sebacher, William Woods University; Jennifer Boltz, Hannibal-LaGrange College.

Setter of the Week - Jessica Evans, Missouri Baptist College

Columbia, MO - Jessica Evans, a senior setter for the Missouri Baptist College Spartans, is the AMC women's volleyball Setter of the Week for the week of Oct. 11 through Oct. 17. Evans, who hails from St. Louis, Mo., led her team to a perfect 5-0 record last week. She totaled 240 assists, averaging 14.1 in each of MBC's 17 games. In addition, Evans racked up 48 digs, two solo blocks, nine assist blocks and 14 service aces.
Also nominated: Deng Yang, Columbia College; Michelle Henry, William Woods University.

Specialist of the Week -Jen Freund, Missouri Baptist College

Columbia, MO - For the second consecutive week, Jen Freund, a junior outside hitter for the Missouri Baptist College Spartans, is the AMC women's volleyball Specialist of the Week. Freund proved to be a force at the net for the Spartans last week. Offensively, the Eureka, Mo. native totaled 49 kills in 138 attempts last week, while committing only 16 errors. Defensively, Freund recorded one solo block and helped out on 19 more for an average of 0.62 per game.
