Player of the Week - Stephanie Sebacher,
William Woods University

[Columbia, MO] - For the second consecutive week, Stephanie Sebacher, a sophomore middle hitter for the William Woods University Owls, has been named the women's volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 2 - Nov. 8. Although WWU was defeated in the semi-final round of the AMC Tournament last week, Sebacher posted impressive numbers for the Owls. The Jonesburg, Mo. native pounded 29 kills in 61 attempts, averaging 4.14 kills per game. Sebacher also posted five solo blocks and six assist blocks for the week in addition to five service aces and 12 digs.
Also nominated:Mariuska Hamilton, Columbia College; Jodi Dierker, Missouri Baptist College; Brooke Portz, McKendree College.

Setter of the Week - Yang Zhe, Columbia College

[Columbia, MO] - Yang Zhe, a 5-11 setter for the Columbia College Cougars, has been named the American Midwest Conference Setter of the Week for women's volleyball for the week of Nov. 2-Nov. 8. Zhe, who was recently voted the AMC's Most Valuable Player for the 1998 volleyball season, led the Cougars to their sixth consecutive AMC Tournament Championship last week. She totaled 54 assists for Columbia College, averaging nine per game. The senior from Liao Lang, China also added seven kills and three service aces in Columbia's victories last week, pushing the team's undefeated streak to 35 games.
Also nominated: Jennifer Brown, McKendree College; Tara Thomure, William Woods University.

Specialist of the Week - Christy Diekemper,
McKendree College

[Columbia, MO] - Christy Diekemper, a 6-0 junior for the McKendree College Bearcats, has been named the American Midwest Conference Specialist of the Week for women's volleyball for the week of Nov. 2-Nov. 8. Diekemper, a frontline specialist for the Bearcats, helped her team to a 2-1 record last week and a second place finish in the AMC Post-Season Tournament. Diekemper, who hails from Centralia, Ill., recorded 17 kills and four blocks for the week.
